In order to do this, you should select and analyze specific scenes, breaking them down in order to discover what each scene does with SUBJECT and STYLE. Compare what you find to the SUBJECT and STYLE of original texts such as “The Wife of Bath’s Tale,” “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight,” and “The Death of King Arthur.”
Most importantly, you should ask yourself, “What is the significance of what the film does with the SUBJECT and/or the STYLE of the medieval romance? What does this contribute to the meaning of the work as a whole?” For example, you might choose to interpret the film as social commentary.
Due: Friday, October 11, before 8 a.m.
